What does it feel like to win Best Mexican Restaurant again?
“Oh my, that’s pretty impressive,” said co-owner Juan Perez, who owns the restaurants with partners Ruben Leon and Albert Arellano.
Is there a dish that is most popular among customers?
“There’s like five or six that are most popular. We don’t have just one,” Perez said. The favorites include the Laredo Grill, which features steak, chicken, shrimp, rice, peppers, and onions, and is topped with queso or the molcajete, which is a serving for two with roasted pork, ribeye steak, chicken, shrimp, homemade chorizo, queso Oaxaca, poblano peppers, mushrooms, onions and roasted jalapeño. Oh, and our margaritas – people really like our margaritas.”
- Second place: Mango’s | Mexican and American Grill
- Third place: Mexican Village
- Fourth place: Acapulco
- Fifth place: Mas Tequila
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
