A 10-year-old Dallas County boy who went missing was found unharmed Saturday in Mexico and reunited with his family in the United States, NBC5 reports.
The statewide AMBER Alert for Ian Aguilar — issued on Nov. 14 after his mother was found dead inside their North Texas home — was discontinued Saturday, according to a Wilmer Police Department statement.
“This results from countless hours of hard work and investigation by many law enforcement agencies, support groups, and their counterparts on both the U.S. and Mexico sides of the border,” the police department said in a released statement.
Ian’s father, 38-year-old Juan Aguilar-Cano, is listed as the suspect in the AMBER Alert and is wanted in connection with 48-year-old Zoleika Arzate-Lopez, Ian’s mother.
Aguilar-Cano was last seen in Houston, according to a Wednesday Amber Alert update.
The vehicle Aguilar-Cano was reported to be in was located and no longer believed to be associated with the abduction. It was abandoned at a bus station for a company that makes frequent trips to Mexico, according to WFAA.
